Jeesus sanoo:

Silti Jeesus otti kantaakseen ristin.

ja he julistaisivat Jumalan Pojan evankeliumin kaikille luoduille,

Jesus says:

If anyone desires to come after me,
let him deny himself,
and take up his cross,
and follow me.

When Jesus took up his cross he knew
that the motives of his prosecutors were envy and hate

and that the judge was incompetent,
that the people who shouted crucifixion to him
could not differ justice from juridical murder,

that his supporters would not defend him
but they would be stunned by the violent play,

that satan would have a field day
as the Most High would be exposed to evil.

Despite all this Jesus took up his cross,
because he knew what nobody else was aware of.

It was

that the joy of satan would be short
and his empire would fall,

that Jesus’ disciples would regain their courage
and they would preach his gospel to every creature,

that righteousness would flow like water
and all nations would learn to know God,

that the malevolent accusers and the weak judge
would quake before him on the day of judgement.

Knowledge of the cross is more than the knowledge of this world.

For whoever desires to save his life
will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for my sake
will find it.
